A companion and coach for Teamfight Tactics

Your theory before. Your guide during. Your coach after.

Lobby Theory turns your completed matches into personalized coaching. It highlights the decisions that shaped each match, weighs the alternative lines against your board, economy, and health, and turns your recurring patterns into focused practice.

  • Decisions in context
  • Alternatives explained
  • Personalized practice

Your build. Your choice. Always.

Illustrated product concept / 13 secExample comp · Patch 18.4b

A 13-second silent animation. The Lobby Theory logo becomes a purple seven-by-four hex board. Kha’Zix lands on a gold tile, followed by two Hands of Justice and Rabadon’s Deathcap. Two possible builds appear: a seven-unit reroll core, or level eight with Taric in the flex slot instead of Alune. An illustrated pointer chooses the level-eight build and clicks Use this comp. The player makes the choice; the app does not automatically choose or switch builds. Buttons and the pointer inside the video are illustrations.

02 / The free overlay

Your game.
Your chosen guide.

Shop markers help you recognize pieces in your selected guide. A compact top-left panel keeps champion roles, item plans, components, substitutes, and temporary holders together, with gold, board value, and gold-to-next-level readouts nearby.

Core Substitute Early holderUnmatched offers stay unmarked.
Live readouts show facts about your own game. They do not tell you when to roll or level or compare you with the lobby. Illustrative placement, not captured gameplay. The guide sits in the top-left corner; the board, bench, shop, and controls stay clear. Badges sit beside the right edge of shop cards, away from artwork and gold costs. A–E is card order, not a purchase ranking. Readout values are synthetic, not calculated from the schematic. Final sizing and readout calculations need in-client validation. On smaller screens, scroll the scene horizontally to inspect it at a readable size.

See the whole plan.

Connect each champion’s role to its items and component requirements. Keep alternative units and early holders close to the main guide.

02

Switch when you choose.

Use a published, app-assisted, or custom build. You can manually replace your active guide during a match, including with a build you just created.

03

Make every decision.

The app does not automatically select or switch compositions, click the shop, buy units, move pieces, or perform other game actions.

03 / Premium coaching

Understand the choice.
Carry the lesson forward.

A result tells you where you finished. A useful review helps you understand how your decisions shaped the way there.

Personalized analysis begins after the entire match ends. Each review connects observations, an alternative line, and the reasoning—while making missing evidence and uncertainty visible.

Stabilization is a checkpoint.

“You needed strength now. Once the upgrades landed, did the next roll offer enough value to justify the gold?”

What to practice next

After a meaningful upgrade, pause and name the next improvement you are rolling for. Then compare it with the value of saving.

This lesson depends on a stable-board assumption. A fragile board or low health could change the answer.

One decision can reveal a recurring pattern.

Across completed matches, look for habits worth practicing: continuing to spend after stabilizing, delaying useful items, or overlooking a supported positioning lesson. Turn a pattern into a focused exercise, then revisit it in later reviews.

Observe → Practice → Review

04 / Theorycrafting

Bring an idea.
Explore its possibilities.

Start with one or more champions, one or more items, or both. Review a recommended starting point and alternatives, change pieces, and keep a build that reflects how you want to play.

  1. 1

    Choose your starting point.

The generator uses planning inputs you enter. It is not automatically fed your live board to produce prescriptions.

  2. 2

    Consider the recommendation. Explore alternatives.

See why a starting composition is suggested, then compare alternatives and their trade-offs. Evidence-supported builds identify their sources and patch; experimental ideas stay labeled. The demo’s recommendation is illustrative, with no combat simulator or performance evidence behind it.

  3. 3

    Take your plan with you.

Save a custom build and select it for the overlay, even during a match. Compatible Team Planner code export is part of the workflow; items and notes may not transfer.

06 / Data & privacy

Different purposes.
Separate choices.

Using the free overlay does not automatically create a persistent match recording or a cloud upload.

The app is planned for distribution through Overwolf, using its structured game events alongside static game data and player-entered plans. Local processing supports guide-category matching and your own economy readouts. Ordinary overlay use does not by itself save this match evidence.

If recording is enabled, the planned evidence includes your board and positions, units and equipped items, bench, gold and economy, health, level and XP, round progression, shop offers, and available combat statistics. The final field list depends on source availability and permissions.

Raw source artifacts stay local. Uploads are limited to specifically allowlisted, derived, redacted evidence for the purpose you choose. Redacted does not mean anonymous. The full notice explains Overwolf event data and source boundaries.

Read the complete privacy notice ↗

This website: local demo interactions; self-hosted fonts, artwork, and video; no app-added analytics, cookies, persistent browser storage, or game uploads. Website delivery and security services may process technical request information; see the full notice for hosting details.

Before production: source permissions, providers, processing locations, retention rules, and withdrawal/deletion controls must be settled. No production AI vendor or retention schedule is selected. Research remains inactive until the necessary permissions, disclosures, and controls are ready.

07 / Launch & availability

In development.
Built with clear boundaries.

Lobby Theory is an unreleased product. The planned distribution channel is Overwolf. This site shows the product design and working local demonstrations. There is no announced release date, public download, checkout, testing enrollment, or waitlist.

Product preview

No Riot or Overwolf approval is claimed. The production app is not available yet.

Ask a product question ↗

What the app does not do

  • Buy, sell, move units, or perform game actions.
  • Automatically switch your active composition or guide.
  • Rank every shop purchase or mark unmatched cards.
  • Feed the live board into the composition generator.
  • Tell you when to roll or level during play, or compare your live readouts with the lobby.
  • Provide live opponent scouting or personalized coaching before the entire match ends.
  • Record or upload matches just because you use the free overlay.

Review scope: shop-marker implementation, in-match theorycrafting, and data-source permissions require feature-specific review. Research launches only with the necessary permissions, disclosures, and controls. Readout calculations and missing-data behavior still need production validation.

08 / Questions, answered

The practical details.

Does Lobby Theory choose or play for me?

You select your guide and make all gameplay decisions. The app does not automatically switch compositions or buy, sell, move, or otherwise control game pieces. Its suggestions present possibilities for you to consider.

Can I create or change a guide during a match?

Yes, this is part of the product design. You can enter planning inputs, explore possibilities, edit a build, and manually select it for the overlay. The generator is not automatically fed the live board.

What do shop markers mean?

They identify whether an offer belongs to a category in the guide you selected: core unit, substitute, or early item holder. They do not rank every purchase. Unmatched cards remain unmarked, and cards must stay readable.

When can I receive personalized coaching?

After the entire match ends, including when your own elimination happens earlier. Coaching is not a live stream of instructions and does not provide live opponent scouting. Review detail depends on what the available evidence supports.

Are these builds and reviews real product outputs?

No. The animation reuses a patch-labeled example, the overlay’s generic guides illustrate its categories, and the coaching review uses synthetic data. Theorycrafting assembles experimental drafts locally. There is no combat simulator or production model behind the demo.

Will the overlay be free? What will premium cost?

The overlay is free; personalized coaching is planned as paid. Prices, coaching allowances, advertising arrangements, and theorycrafting’s tier allocation remain undecided.

Do I have to contribute data to use the overlay or coaching?

Research and model training are separate choices, both off by default. Free and paid users may opt into research without buying or requesting coaching. A requested coaching review has its own processing purpose; it does not enroll you in research or training.

What does saving or deleting do in this demo?

A saved build exists only in this page’s memory and resets on reload. The deletion control displays a sample request; it does not submit or erase anything. For a real privacy inquiry about information already held, email privacy@lobbytheory.com.

Can I export my custom build to TFT’s Team Planner?

Compatible team code export is planned, but is not implemented in this preview. Only information supported by the code format can transfer. Do not assume items, notes, explanations or all other custom-build details are included.

Is Lobby Theory approved by Riot?

No approval is claimed. This preview communicates the product flows for review. See development status and review scope for the unresolved implementation and permission questions.

Let’s talk Lobby Theory.

Developed and operated by Johnny Antwiler.

Read the animation

The logo opens into a 7 × 4 hex board. Kha’Zix and his items become the starting point for two possible builds. An illustrated player compares the options, selects the level-eight composition with Taric in the flex slot instead of Alune, and clicks “Use this comp.” It is a visual concept for a player-selected guide, not a recording of released functionality. Controls shown inside the video are not interactive.
